Jet-ski racing

Speed, Sound and Sun!!!

The quite town off Secunda was transformed into a speed and sound fest as the South African jet-ski champs descended towards it's peaceful shores.
There was a great vibe on the waters of mine-shaft 5 as the jet-ski fraternity battled it out to see who would be king of the water!

We were down there to film the riders with their powerful machines racing around a set course to determine who would be the champion!

I were there with my Steadicam running up and down on the water's edge capturing these impressive machines in action.

It might not be the real deal like filming crocs in the wild, but because of the intimate nature of the experience made it worthwhile.
Yes these crocs are habituated to humans, but that means you can get very close 2 them and actually appreciate these awesome creatures...
I filmed inside their enclosure and got low to the ground which was a bit scary at first but you get use to it...always sill keeping an eye for any crocs lurking in the muddy waters.

Very cool day with these ancient animals.....
 

Parkour 3D Steadicam

Awesome shoot where we had 3 members from the Parkour group doing stunts and I had to chase them around with my Steadicam...

We had briliant locations that enhanced the shots. An old factory next to Olando towers in Soweto, a loft apartment in New Town and on the campus of Wits university.

There was a 3D camera rig mounted on my Steadicam which was very heavy and I had to word hard, but it was worth it because the images looked stunning....
